I work with children and families to optimise learning and development and enhance the individual’s unique potential.
About Me
I am a single parent of two amazing teenage boys. The job of parenting is potentially the most rewarding, providing opportunities for learning and personal growth, greater than in any other role or relationship. I am intensely interested in family systems, its role in human development and the power of human relationships to propel children on pathways to problematic or positive life outcomes.
I have always been focused on people, seeking to understand them and how they learn and develop, their behaviour and thinking, how they do relationships, and what motivates them. And I have been naturally drawn to a position of caring for others, especially children.
I am passionate about education and learning – not limited to academic or school type of learning, but that which enables us to live our best life: optimising our development and ability to adapt and thrive in our world.
I worked for twelve years as a foundation phase educator, and subsequently qualified and work as an educational psychologist. In my practice I work with children and parents, families and individuals in a variety of contexts, facilitating growth and change.
